PASTOR SI COCHRAN
Pastor Si Cochran began serving Cornerstone Baptist Church in 2018. He received a Master of Divinity in the School of Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Theology in Practical Theology and a Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Si grew up in southern Missouri, where he met Anna, his wife of twenty years. They are blessed with five sons.
Si is burdened to minister to the hearts of the people at Cornerstone and the Orange City community with the gospel-centered Word of God. In serving the people of Cornerstone, Si values expository preaching, theologically focused discipleship, biblical counseling, and shepherd leadership.
Tom Dykstra was raised in Long Beach, California, where he met Debbie, his wife of 45 years. After two years of study at junior college, Tom served in the Coast Guard for four years. In 1992, Tom and his family moved to Orange City. Tom serves as an elder at Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he also leads corporate worship through song. Tom resonates with Martin Luther, who said, “Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. . . . The gift of language combined with the gift of song was only given to man to let him know that he should praise God with both word and music, namely, by proclaiming [the Word of God] through music.” Ministering the Word of God through music is Tom’s desire and passion in life.
